Single. A label that some girls are proud of and other girls...not so much. For those of you girls who aren't so happy about it, I can't blame you. I mean, it's definitely hard to stay happy when all you can think about is all the cute couples around you who are sooo adorable.
But we can't let the singleness get to us. We have to go about it in such a way that we;re trusting God with whatever happens and staying happy and true to ourselves. Here are three ways to stay happy and look towards God while you're waiting for Prince Charming.
1. Pray for your future husband
Praying for the man that is going to one day be your husband -- even if you haven't met him yet -- is a good way to keep your eyes on God and put your trust in Him. It also, in a way, makes you feel connected to the man who will one day be your Prince Charming. Praying for him is also a way to prepare yourself for him.
Here are some ideas of things to pray over your future husband:
--Pray that God would be working in his life and preparing him for you and God also prepares you for him.
--Pray that God would bless him and keep him safe.
--Pray that God would establish his plans and be at work in all that he does.
--Pray that your future husband would keep his eyes on God and keep his mind and heart pure as he waits for you
There are so many other things you can pray over your future Prince Charming! Those are just a few ideas.
2. Remember that God has perfect timing
You have to remember that God is the one with the perfect plan. And because His plan is perfect, so is His timing. Rushing it isn't going to make you find the perfect person. It's only going to lead to destruction and leave you with heartache when you keep finding the wrong person. God already knows who he has in store for you. And when the time and place are right...you're going to meet him. So in the meantime, rejoice knowing His timing is perfect and be sure to guard your heart so that when the perfect person comes along...you'll be ready for him.
3. Chase God.
Chase God with everything you do. Commit your ways to the Lord just as it says in Proverbs. You want to make sure that while you're waiting for a man who is honoring God with his life...you have to also be honoring God with yours. Because that's what He'll be looking for.
If you're seeking God and your future husband is also seeking God. In His perfect timing, God will lead you to each other. And it will be so worth the wait.
And please, please, please remember to guard your heart. In Psalms 423 it says "Above all else, guard your heart. For everything you do flows from it."
